Last spring Paige came home from preschool with a little cup of dirt that she had planted. Her teacher Miss Vicki said it was a sunflower seed. We put it in the back yard where I was sure it would meet the fate of all other seeds from school- death. Bob took an interest in her little cup of dirt and he took Paige out there everyday and helped her water it. As it grew they transferred it into bigger containers until one day it was ready to go in the ground. He had Paige help him plant it and they watered it religiously and look at it now! It is well over 6 feet tall! I think they both were very proud. Next year Piper said she wants to grow one too. It's amazing how something as little as growing a flower can bring us such joy.

Wow! That is one impressive sunflower!!!
What a fantastic thing to do. Every year my dad would let me pick 2 kinds of seeds to plant in his garden and I always chose sunflowers. I'm not sure why I haven't done that with my kids. Great picture.
WOW! Look at that thing! Amazing.
Congrats to her (and Bob) for growing one big beautiful flower. :)
