Black Friday

I know, you are really sick of seeing the sunflower. I have been having some major problems balancing life lately and unfortunately my blog took quite a hit. I have so much I want to post and I have a ton of pictures to put up. Be patient with me, I am trying.

Today was one of my favorite days of the year- Black Friday! Yes I am one of those insane people that gets up way before dawn in search of a bargain. This year my parents took the girls for a sleepover and Bob came with me and we had a lot of fun. I can't really post what our main goal was or else it would spoil some presents, but I think we did pretty well.

Our day started at 3:45am when we got in line for Kohl's. Good start, got the girls the Island Princess Barbie and bought Piper the Disney version of the Easy Bake Oven. This one somehow "bakes" with ice so it should avoid those pesky third degree burns and severed finger problems the Easy Bake Oven has encountered lately.

From there we headed off to the line at Hell, I mean Walmart. Now I am no fan of Walmart. I pretty much think it is the devil, but those little third world sweat shop children can really make crap for cheap. I must say that it was a very pleasant experience. It was around 27 degrees here and we were in line about 30 minutes before it opened at 5am. They came around with coffee and cookies, they were handing out vouchers for the popular items so there wouldn't be a crazy mad dash with trampled bodies in the aisles, there were sales people in every aisle to help you find everything. And the best one! The managers stood by the doors and kicked out all of the sneaky, cutting bastards that try to slip in the line after the doors are open. Another great perk was Walmart will price match any store if you bring in the ad so I brought in my KB ad and they honored those prices so I didn't have to enter the cluster**** that is KB Toys and Paige got her baby Skywishes for half off. We scored a new bike for Piper for $25!

We were on a high after this and successfully shopped at K-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, and Office Depot. I was warm and snug in my bed by 8:30 with a garage full of presents!

I get warm and cuddly just thinking about it :0) Only 366 more days until next year (it's a leap year in 2008).
