Yeah Portland finally got an IKEA!! Okay I know IKEA is mearly a European K-Mart, but I still love it. It opened on Wednesday and we almost went then, but decided to give it a few days so we went on Friday instead. I have to admit that I think we have outgrown a lot of their furniture. It just isn't my taste anymore, but I still love that store. We bought some stuff for the girls and a few little cheap kitchen gadgets. The best part is the kid drop off area they have. We figured at only 2 days old it was the cleanest it was going to be and the girls were dying to go in, so we checked them in. There is a huge ball pit, a little rock climbing wall, things to play on, an art area and a loft with a bunch of comfy pillows and a movie playing. They also give you a pager so if your child needs anything they can get ahold of you right away. The girls had a blast and there were quite a few staff members supervising. All in all a great trip. Paige was a little disappointed because she wanted Swedish meatballs for dinner, but the line for the cafe was outrageous so she will have to get them another day.
The trip was close to perfect until Paige got mad at Piper and poked her in the eye. Geez, we can't go anywhere without a little drama.

I guess we will have to go check it out since I am an IKEA virgin. I think I'll wait a couple weeks for the crowds to die down.
I'm so jealous! :o)
we drove right in and got a front parkng spot. It was a little crowded inside, but again we walked right up to a register.
There is a restaurant?! I just thought the swedish meatballs thing was a grand opening thing. Crazy. I have yet to go. I've NEVER been to any IKEA. It's like a right of passage...
We went on that friday too, but goodness gracious it was PACKED, we parked out in BFE and had to walk forever to get there, then we tried to drop the boys off, and couldn't because there was no space in the play place... it was nutty! I just couldn't believe how HUGE the whole place was, it is crazy.
Our nearest IKEA is an hour away. We don't go often - but it's so cool to go and take SIL who IS Swedish - she translates everything! :)
